Pharmacy Lead

What do you do?

I am a specialist neonatal pharmacist at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, where I work for the Trevor Mann Baby Unit. In my role, I apply my expertise in the complex interactions between medicines and newborns to ensure the safe and effective use of medications for the infants under our care.

As the pharmacy lead for the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex network, I support neonatal pharmacists across the region in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care. I also collaborate with our network team to enhance pharmacy services across the board.

What would you like to achieve?

My goals for our pharmacy services include:

  • Enhancing the level of pharmacy service provided to our neonatal units, ensuring they meet national standards and achieve equitable access to pharmacy services across all our units.
  • Fostering a collaborative environment where neonatal pharmacists work together to:
    • Standardise the use of medicines
    • Support the education and training of our pharmacy team, the wider neonatal care team, and the parents and carers we serve
    • Improve medication safety

Contributing to research and innovation projects aimed at driving advancements in the safe and effective use of medicines for newborn infants.
