From the Creator Julian Bose Dad Pad Neonatal

After many months of planning, collaboration, development and shared ambition, I am delighted to let you know that today marks the official launch of the Neonatal DadPad App & Booklets, across the five  neonatal units in SHIP LMNS(Southampton , Portsmouth , HHFT and the Isle of Wight)

Firstly, I wanted to say a huge thank you for all your support, encouragement and belief in what we are trying to achieve. Your input, alongside that of colleagues across your Neonatal Network, has helped shape what we hope will become a genuinely valuable resource for fathers, partners and families navigating the neonatal journey.

The app is now live and available for families to download. Alongside the booklets ready to be distributed across the units, we now have a unique opportunity to begin supporting dads using our resources from admission through to discharge and beyond.

The QR code in the Booklet and marketing posters we provide take everyone here https://www.thedadpad.co.uk/our-products/dadpad-neonatal/ which will show users where to download the App, Apple & Google Play stores.

As today is both Father’s Day and a Sunday, I thought it sensible to mention that technical support may be a little slower than usual. We do anticipate teething issues, so  if your dads or your teams encounter any difficulties, please email me directly and I will ensure any queries are picked up with the development team first thing on Monday morning.

We are very much treating this as a soft launch and learning phase. Over the coming weeks we will stay in close contact with you and the units to identify any snagging issues, gather feedback and make improvements where needed. One of the real advantages of the platform is that we can continue to update content, add local support information and incorporate new initiatives as the service evolves.

Looking ahead, we are excited to continue supporting implementation and embedding of the app across the network. This may include additional staff training sessions, launch support materials, short video resources and, in due course, visits to units to meet colleagues and families. We are also looking forward to working with FiCare teams/and other appropriate colleagues to help develop relationships with the dads through the community groups, and bespoke neonatal illustrations based on real-world practice and experiences within your units.

We will also continue developing additional functionality, including the community engagement features and, at an appropriate point, activating app notifications to further support engagement.

Thank you once again for your partnership, enthusiasm and leadership. We are genuinely excited about what we can achieve together for fathers, partners and families across your Neonatal Units and beyond.
