What do you do?
I co-lead on the Neonatal Critical Care Review Transformation Plan to enhance the parents’ journey through neonatal care. Together with Sarah Edwards, we lead a team of 3 Local Care Coordinators to work with local neonatal units to build on their philosophy of family integrated care. Our aim is to ensure that staff and parents work in partnership in the care of their baby, keeping the family at the centre of all care and decision making, during their neonatal journey.
I work with the neonatal units at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Salisbury Hospital, St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester and St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight.
What would you like to achieve?
My aim is to standardise care for babies and support for parents across the Network. I hope to ensure the continuity of care, and respect for parents’ ability to care for their baby, when families move between units.
